Frank waved goodbye to all his friends there to wish him off. He jumped on his bike and started to pedal.法兰克向前来祝他好运的朋友们挥手道别。他跳上脚踏车，踩着踏板开始出发。
First he would pedal to the end of his block and then to the outskirt of town and then right out of the state of California.他要先骑到街尾再骑到市郊，然后直接骑出加州市。
Frank was riding his bike all the way along the coast to Mexico. The first day of his trip was good.法兰克计划沿着海岸一路骑着脚踏车到墨西哥。第一天行程还算顺利，
The weather was nice and there were few hills. In fact, his first week was good, with the exception of a flat tire and mild sunburn.天气非常棒，斜坡也不多。事实上，除去爆胎和轻微的晒伤外，第一周状况算是很好。
Halfway into his second week, Frank began to feel tired. A storm was coming.但第二周过了一半时，法兰克开始感觉累了。而且出现了一场暴风雨;
There was nowhere for him to sTOP for miles. He kept pedaling even though his legs were sore and tired.放眼望去，好几英里内都没地方可以让他停下来躲避，尽管他的腿又痛又累，也只好不停地踩着脚踏车。
Then it began to rain a heavy, cold rain.接着天空开始下起又大又冷的雨，
Frank could hardly see. His breath was getting short, his chest hurt. He had to keep going.Frank drove all through the night.让法拉克几乎看不到东西。他的呼吸愈加短促，胸口也开始疼痛，但仍需不断往前才行。
By morning the storm had quit and the sun was out as Frank arrived at the Mexican border, tired and sore.法兰克整晚不停地骑，到了早上，暴风雨终于平息，太阳也出来了，这个时候全身疲累又酸痛的法兰克也骑到了墨西哥边境。
He had made it. He had biked all the way to Mexico!他总算成功了，终于骑着脚踏车一路抵达了墨西哥!
